I'll temporarily pause my search as I'm expecting my bonus in (X)?
🚫 Is your bonus discretionary or guaranteed? if discretionary your bonus could be deferred?
🚫 Typically I've received between (X and Y %) for the last 2 years; again if your bonus is discretionary there may be a difference in what is expected vs realised.
🚫 Alteration of bonus dates; again if discretionary or not contractually assigned to a date period the employer may adjust this.
🚫 Bonus payments unexpectedly being spread over a longer period due to forecasts in results not meeting expectations.
✅ Dependent on the level of the role / skill set sought some businesses may offer a sign on bonus if proven to be realised.
✅ In some cases clients may configure their salary benchmark to help compensate for the bonus you'll be sacrificing.
If your clear that your keen to pursue a move I'd certainly take a more considered approach when evaluating your options as often your just delaying the inevitable or dismissing incredible roles based on in some cases assumptions or non contractual promises!
