We embarked on an urgent growth programme for our in-house development team, looking to double our capacity across development and test functions in a short time frame.


Our People and Culture are central to everything we do at Gallagher, and having built a high-performing in-house team from scratch (moving away from third-party suppliers) to support key strategic systems, adding the wrong people now was a risk we couldn't afford to take.

Working with the Insurance Technology team at DVF, we were able to achieve this, with the people that DVF helped us secure not only having the right technical skill set but also the attitude and approach to fit in quickly. Thanks to Charlie and the team’s understanding of the skills and behaviours we look for, we have halved our onboarding and training timeframe for new developers joining our sprint teams. This allowed us to achieve the benefits of growing our team much faster and ultimately makes continued growth a less risky venture.

DVF’s market knowledge was a key factor in this successful recruitment exercise, especially given we seemed to be fighting for talent in a challenging post-pandemic IT recruitment market. This couldn't have been achieved by just firing over hundreds of CVs—the team clearly put a lot of thought into who they put forward, which gave us confidence to move through the interview and selection process at pace.

Profiles were put forward quickly but with consideration of the role and company values. I couldn’t recommend DVF enough to anyone who needs to build an effective team aligned to your company goals and values, rather than a set of individuals.
