Legal Project Manager – Magic Circle Law Firm

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of complex legal matters. You will work closely with partners, associates, and business services teams to ensure cases are managed efficiently, on time, and within budget. In addition to managing legal projects, you will also contribute to the firm’s continuous improvement initiatives, helping to shape best practices in legal project management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the management of significant legal matters from inception to completion, ensuring effective planning, budgeting, and execution.
- Engaging with stakeholders at all levels to drive efficiency, maintain oversight, and ensure alignment with client expectations.
- Developing and implementing legal project management best practices, tools, and training for lawyers.
- Coordinating matter resources, including fee earners, business services teams, and external providers, to ensure seamless execution.
- Tracking progress, managing risks, and proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Leading post-matter reviews to capture lessons learned and refine future processes.
- Supporting the firm’s innovation initiatives, identifying opportunities for process improvement through technology and new working methods.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Strong background in project management, ideally within a professional services or legal environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- A commercial mindset, with the ability to analyse financial data and drive value for both the firm and its clients.
- Experience in managing competing priorities, handling multiple tasks simultaneously, and delivering under pressure.
- Strong leadership and team coordination abilities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- A keen interest in legal technology and innovation, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
