As a Director of Career Legal, I also head the Change and Transformation team for DVF recruitment. My passion for ED&I stemmed from a personal epiphany. Having worked in recruitment for several years, I previously lacked the confidence to represent my true self in the workplace. That changed when I arrived at Career Legal. It was enlightening, 7 years on, I am now fully immersed in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion both within the company, driving communication and support for our staff, but also addressing how we approach recruitment itself, ensuring we champion the principles of ED&I whenever we promote candidates to our clients. We have embraced the subject as a cornerstone of our professional delivery ensuring we are constantly talking and working toward everyone having the confidence to be their whole true selves in the workplace.

I'm a Director at Career Legal and lead the HR recruitment team, but first and foremost I am a proud mum of my two sons who happen to be neurodiverse. Like all parents in my position, I have become a specialist in their diagnosis to understand and support them and ensure they are living their best lives. In my quest for knowledge, I have naturally engaged with the wider subjects of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. In my professional capacity, I have met some exceptional individuals who have faced and overcome extraordinary challenges. These trailblazers gave me the time, inspiration, and confidence to create a platform so that my clients, HR Managers, and D&I professionals, could learn from their stories through seminars and blogs which in turn inspires them to introduce ED&I into their firms. As a result, we have now built a tremendous community of people who continue to inspire and work towards equality for all in everyday life and the workplace.

As the HR manager at Career Legal, I am responsible for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion representation for all our staff. At Career Legal DE&I is integral to our core values as a business, it is front and center in everything we do. I’m therefore committed to championing DE&I and leading inclusively, working to create policies and procedures that support our goals and benefit us all. We continually develop through training programmes to help educate employees and develop DE&I hiring practices and mentorship programmes. Ultimately, my role is to create a safe environment where our employees can bring their true selves to work.
